Fickle Spring

Apparently Spring is the non-committal type and he's not ready for a "relationship".

To illustrate, 2 weeks ago, on April 17th, my kids were swimming in Fish Creek, despite the obvious ice pack melting slowly into the creek...  One week later, this is what my backyard looked like:

What? You don't believe they were "swimming"?  Voila, my friends, the Polar Dip.
Lest you think that looks benign and refreshing, here is the other side of the rock...
Note the 8 inch shelf of ice behind Miranda.  Feel Lincoln's muscles tense as he braces himself  against the spray when Miranda jumps in.  So fun to watch! lol
Then we had a week of nice weather during which we played baseball and went for runs everyday!
Then the wind howedl like a banshee for a few days and now I need to thank Jealous Old Man Winter for one more It's-too-miserable-to do-anything-but-stay-home-and-knit day.

We went from snow on Saturday to squirt gun fights on Monday after school. Not quite as extreme as your extremes, but fickle all the same!

this weather has me feeling rather schizo. spring needs to claim hold and kick winter out for good.
