Failed deadline

So...what do you do when you are knitting a tuque for "someone" for her birthday in her favourite colour in a style she is going to love and her birthday is today and the tuque is not finished?  She is going to be really mad if it's not done.  And even though it totally looks like winter outside still, it won't for long.  It's the end of April after all.  Which means she only has limited days left to wear the tuque before next season. (Which usually comes soon enough that we don't really need to stress about this, but I'm stressing anyway.)  I need to think of a compensation present.  Help.
