Confuscious say...

Confucius say: Mother who pay too much for fake silk scarf and nightgown find better bargains at Purple Mountain.
Confucius say: Daughter who buy dress two sizes too small lucky Grandfather buy her one too.

The family set out for the Confucius Temple on the Subway in the rain - our only day of bad weather.

Confucius was a wise philosopher and one of the most famous people in Ancient China. After he died, people honored him by building Confucius Temples in every city in China.

Confucianism was the education in China for 2000 years. The area around the temple is a popular tourist market comprising around 3000 shops selling everything from pets to Prada bags.

In the first shop Erica bought a beautiful red silk scarf - only to later discover a small tag that says, "Genuine silk feeling polyester". She also tried on a silk dress. After finding one that fit, the saleslady gave her one "same size" still in the packaging. Unfortunately when she tried it on at home, it was two sizes too small. There are no tags denoting the size. Other purchases included dragon ties for Edward and Bentley. Lunch was Burger King, after which the family went down a dark alley with a "runner" where they were delivered into a warehouse where they all picked out Prada bags. In the end, no price could be agreed upon.

The Subway in Nanjing has many "forbidding notices".

Please do not: chase or create disturbances/no spitting/Please stay clear of tracks/Please do not eat or drink on the train/ Please offer seat to those in need/no swinging/no climbing/no littering/no smoking.
